23 cars started Round 3 of the Malaysian Rally Championship in the compounds of the Rally HQ in Sri Iskandar just after 2 pm Saturday. Entries included new and old faces in local rallying scene. Among them is Faidzil Alang and Kenneth Koh. Both of them are making a one off appearance in the championship in two different cars. Leg 1 consist of 3 stages looping the through the Gelung Gajah and Bukit Kota plantations. Hot and dry conditions and a long dry spell made the rally routes very dusty with a thick layer of powder over the surface. As championship leader Roduwan Rashid lead the 23 cars over the start ramp. Muhammad Rafiq, Karamjit Singh, Kenneth Koh, Hj Suhaimi and Rafizal will be fighting for honors in the 4WD category while the 2WD will be hotly contested by Sutan, Henzee, Faidzal and Muhd Khairul Nizam.

By the end of SS3, Muhd Rafiq leads rally with a health margin of over a minute over Hj Suhaimi in second place. The 2WD category is led by Dinnie Nazmi whom finish leg 1 in 3rd spot. Dinnie Nazmi will have a hard time on Sunday as Sutan, MRU Motorsports Abdul Kaathir and Mohd Henzee are only separated by less than a minute. It will be and interesting battle for them to finish on the podium.
