was business as usual for the 31 competitors whom started leg1
of the Rally of Perlis. It was an anxious moment early in the
day with the weather forecast predicted 90% rain around 3pm. However
the weather remained dry and windy right through the end and only
started to rain at 6pm.
only 3 stages covering about 40km in Leg 1, it was flat out driving
as soon as the lights turned green. The top 4WD drivers where
at it immediately with Indonesian Rachmat flooring his EVO 9 taking
the lead of Leg 1 with a healthy lead of over a minit. Karamjit
Singh whom was expected to challenge Rachmat was slapped with
a 1 minit penalty for coming out of service late when he was forced
to change a center diff as he left the start ramp. He ended the
leg in 6th.
Rachmat are Henzee and Dato Haniff, both driving Subaru Imprezas.
The two drove faultlessly with only 3 second separating the pair.
The leader of the 2WD cars is a close battle between Khairul Nizam,
Indonesian Putra Rizky and Azizi. The trio separated only by a
minit highlights the skill and close battle of the drivers and
30 cars completed leg 1 and will continue leg 2 which consist
of 6 stages and 76km of competitive stages. Should the weather
remain as it is, Its set to be an intense event with competitors
eager to set the fastest time and finish the rally as high up
