Windy and Bone dry!
20/10/2018

It was business as usual for the 31 competitors whom started leg1 of the Rally of Perlis. It was an anxious moment early in the day with the weather forecast predicted 90% rain around 3pm. However the weather remained dry and windy right through the end and only started to rain at 6pm.

With only 3 stages covering about 40km in Leg 1, it was flat out driving as soon as the lights turned green. The top 4WD drivers where at it immediately with Indonesian Rachmat flooring his EVO 9 taking the lead of Leg 1 with a healthy lead of over a minit. Karamjit Singh whom was expected to challenge Rachmat was slapped with a 1 minit penalty for coming out of service late when he was forced to change a center diff as he left the start ramp. He ended the leg in 6th.

Behind Rachmat are Henzee and Dato Haniff, both driving Subaru Imprezas. The two drove faultlessly with only 3 second separating the pair. The leader of the 2WD cars is a close battle between Khairul Nizam, Indonesian Putra Rizky and Azizi. The trio separated only by a minit highlights the skill and close battle of the drivers and cars.

30 cars completed leg 1 and will continue leg 2 which consist of 6 stages and 76km of competitive stages. Should the weather remain as it is, Its set to be an intense event with competitors eager to set the fastest time and finish the rally as high up as possible.
